We're living in a time of information overload and complexity, inundated with too much information and too little time to get through it. There needs to be a better way to help people deal with overwhelming amounts of information and complexity. Visual explanations of your product or service using online presentations, video, screencasts & tutorials or interactive Flash can dramatically accelerate that "Aha!" moment where people suddenly "get it."

Online visual explanations represent my focus for 2009. I believe that visual explanations, incorporated into an Internet presence (website, blog, SlideShare, Facebook, etc.) are going to be a key competitive advantage for those who use them. I think it's important enough that I've spun off an ancillary website, VisualThinkMedia.com, devoted to to visual explanations.
